Ordinaces should be brought through consensus: UCPN (Maoist)

REPUBLICA ONLINE

KATHMANDU, Aug 25: The UCPN (Maoist) on Saturday said that new ordinances will be recommended to President Dr Ram Baran Yadav on the basis of political consensus.

Talking to the journalists at party central office, Paris Danda today, party spokesman, Agni Sapkota said, "It is the party´s official view that new ordinances should be brought through consensus and the party will take initiation towards it.”

He also added that it will invite confrontations among the political parties if new ordinances were brought unilaterally.

UCPN (Maoist)’ latest view on the ordinance-controversy came at a time when President Yadav stated that he would reject the ordinances recommended by the government sans political consensus.
