KATHMANDU, Aug 22: Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has directed the concerned bodies to prepare an action plan for not making load shedding hours more than 12 hours during winter season.

During the meeting with chief secretary, finance secretary and officials at the Ministry of Energy and Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) at his official residence at Baluwatar on Wednesday, the Prime Minister directed this after load shedding was also started during the monsoon season.

Spokesperson at the Ministry of Energy, Anup Upadhyay told RSS that the Prime Minister directed the concerned bodies to support to complete hydel electricity projects on time as the government has put the power generation in top priority.

Upadhyay said that Prime Minister Dr Bhattarai urged them to submit an action plan at the earliest with specifications how to decrease power outage and added that the PM also directed the NEA to prepare such an action plan.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister was familiarized that there is a possibility that power outage could be limited to 12 hours in winter season from operation of diesel plants, as 200 MW electricity would be imported from India in this fiscal year and 8-10 MW electricity would be received from private power generating companies.
