  Flood wreaks havoc in Humla village

SIMIKOT, Aug 20: Floods triggered by heavy rainfall on the Sarkideu stream at Unapani in Humla district on Sunday night has entered into the locality, damaging pathways and washing away arable land and electricity poles.

Movement of the people has been hampered due to the floods, said a local Ganesh Fadera.

Flood has caused damage to the under-construction Unapani Small Hydro Power Project. Construction materials have also been swept away by the flood.

Besides, a wooden bridge over the river has been swept away in the flooding, a local Tuku Rawat said. Even the Sarkeghad police nearby the village could not reach for assessing the damages because of the flooding in the river.
