JANAKPUR, Aug. 18: Chairman of Unified CPN (Maoist) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said the Interim Constitution has not given right to the President to appoint the Prime Minister.
Addressing the 18th Memorial Assembly of Rambriksha Yadav at Barmajhiya VDC on Saturday, he warned of stern protest if the President resorted to take such move.
Chairman Dahal claimed blamed the Nepali Congress and the CPN (UML) of demanding resignation of Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai to capture the Prime Ministerial post, adding, "The NC and UML are provoking President Dr. Yadav to appoint a new Prime Minister."
He said the promulgation of a new constitution through the Constituent Assembly could not take place as they could not forge consensus with the NC and UM.
The fresh CA elections was not possible without consensus among the political parties, he further said stressing the need to take new initiative for the national consensus.
On a different note, Dahal said the broader alliance has been formed to give way out to the nation from the current political impasse claiming the UML would also join the alliance within mid September.
Meanwhile, Chairman Dahal unveiled the newly constructed statues of late Yadav, his wife Ram Kumari Yadav and their son Shekhar Yadav.
