BIRGUNJ, Aug 18: At least 20 people were injured when the locals, who took to the streets protesting pollution allegedly caused by two factories, clashed with police in Bhavanipur VDC-2 of Parsa on Saturday.

People of Sauraha of Bhabanipur had padlocked Narayani Bone Chips Industry and Mid Western Bone Chips Industry on Friday, accusing them of causing pollution.

Police inspector Binod Dhital removed the padlocks in the factories on Saturday morning infuriating the locals. In the ensuing clash, at least three children were also injured. Dhital said police had to use force after the locals tried to forcibly enter the factories.
