Deuba faction NC dept, zonal chiefs put in papers en masse

REPUBLICA ONLINE

KATHMANDU, Aug 15: The newly appointed department chiefs and zonal coordinators of Nepali Cogress (NC), close to the party’s senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba, tendered their resignation en masse from their respective posts, on Wednesday.

The 12 department chiefs quitting their post include Purna Bahadur Khadka, Ramesh Rijal, Prakash Sharan Mahat, Kishor Singh Rathore, Manmohan Bhattarai, Sujata Pariyar, Sita Gurung, Mahalaxmi Upadhyay, Ambika Basnet, Ishwori Neupane, Minakshi Jha and Bal Krishna Khand.

Likewise, the four coordinators who offered their resignation are Mahendra Yadav, Surendra Panday, Min Bishwokarma and Jeevan Bahadur Shahi. Two other zonal coordinators , Gyanendra Bahadur Karki and NP Saud, had  resigned, earlier.

A meeting of the CWC members and former Constituent Assembly (CA) members from the Deuba faction Monday had taken the decision to jointly relinquish their duties, concluding that party President Sushil Koirala´s decision to form 12 more departments was against the party´s statutory provisions.
