KATHMANDU, Aug 15: During the press meet for the film “Sungava – Dance of the Orchid,” its director Subarna Thapa clearly stated, “I didn’t make this film to create sensationalism. If people crossing their fifties can fall in love, then I don’t understand why two women can’t.”
The press meet was organized at Sarwanam Art Centre, Kalikasthan.
The film, the working title of which was “Snow Flowers,”’ unravels the story of two women in love with each other, and the complications of their relationship.

The film has Nisha Adhikari, Deeya Makey, Saugat Malla, Basundhara Bhusal and Laxmi Giri and has been selected for international films festivals, like the Montreal International Film Festival, the International Hamburg Film Fest, and the International Festival of Young Directors, France.
Basundhara Bhusal said, “This film has a strong message. Through this film many people will be aware and they will learn to be sensitive of such issues.”
The music for the film has been provided by Kutumba.
