PALPA, Aug 8: At least a dozen students have been injured in a scuffle with police here in the district on Wednesday.

The students affiliated to Nepal Students Union, All Nepal National Free Students Union (Sixth) and All Nepal National Free Students Union (Revolutionary) have been injured in the scuffle that ensued after they waved black flags to Education Minister Dinanath Sharma.

Sharma had reached the district headquarters, Tansen, to attend the golden jubilee program of Mahendrabodhi Secondary School.

The students had climbed on the terrace of an adjoining house to wave black flag, in protest, to the minister.

According to Resham Kandel, a central member of ANNFSU (Sixth) , at least three students suffered fractured hand in the scuffle.

10  among the injured have been undergoing treatment at Mission Hospital, while the other three are being treated at the district hospital, informed Kandel.

The students have also announced a two-hour Palpa banda today in protest of the incident.
