KATHMANDU, Aug 7: Youth Association Nepal (YAN), youth wing of CPN UML, has decided to reduce banda hours by one hour on Wednesday.
A standing committee of the YAN on Tuesday decided to impose banda for three hours from 6 to 9 am and let schools and colleges vehicles run without obstructions on Wednesday.
The YF has been imposing a four-hour banda in the morning for the last three days.
Meanwhile, eight vehicles were vandalized during a four-hour banda on Tuesday morning.
Banda enforces vandalized metropolitan vehicle (Ba 1 Ga 2263), truck (Ba 2 Kha 2234) at Sallaghari and taxi (Ba 1 Ja 1515) in front of Chapal Karkhana, Kathmandu, among others, police said.
YAN announces 2nd phase protests
Agitating YAN has announced second round of protest program including restriction of ministers´ vehicles on the road.
According to YAN chairman Mahesh Basnet the second phase of protest program includes Singhadurbar and ministers´ quarters gherao, mask protest, nation-wide election and torch rally, among others.
He also warned that they would attack ministers if they defy banda by plying on vehicles.
