  Rukum closed as students clash

RUKUM, Aug 2: Khalanga, the district headquarters of Rukum, was closed on Thursday following a clash between two different student unions.

Students affiliated to All Nepal National Free Student Union (ANNFSU) and All Nepal National Independent Student Union (ANNISU) clashed at Musikot Multiple Campus.

The fight broke out as the campus committee was discussing the different demands presented by the two student unions. The police have detained 20 students including ANNISU district chief Madan Khadka, for engaging in manhandling.

Fights between student unions at Musikot Multiple Campus, Rukum is becoming increasingly common as similar incidence occurred a few days ago. Angered with the formation of ANNISU committee, the revolutionary students vandalized the campus administration.

Because of such regular conflicts, business, transportation, educational institutions in the area have been badly affected.
