BHAKTAPUR, July 31: Nine various student organizations padlocked the office of the Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB) indefinitely from Tuesday.
The students padlocked the offices of Vice-Chairman of the HSEB, Hem Kumar Mishra and Member-Secretary Bhimlal Gurung putting seven different demands.
The demands of the student unions include guarantee of free and equal education to all students up to grade 12 in new constitution, implementation of all past agreements met among Education Ministry, HSEB and student unions, and nationalization of all private educational institutions, among others.
Similarly, the students have demanded a total of 20 per cent scholarships in higher secondary schools, bringing the zero plus two colleges under a fixed parameter of education and others.
All Nepal National Free Students Union, All Nepal National Independent Students Union (Revolutionary), Nepal Students´ Union, All Nepal National Free Students Union (Fifth), Revolutionary Students Association have been organizing protest programmes jointly for long.
Similarly, the students today prevented the Vice-Chairman and Member-Secretary of the Council of Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) from entering their offices.
