SARLAHI, July 31: Three pilgrims died in a road accident at Banke forest of Sarlahi road section along the East-West highway on Monday night.
The deceased are Maru Pandit of Bhaktipur VDC-7 in Sarlahi district, his wife Lalbati Devi and Umesh Mahato of the same place.
The accident took place when a tractor (Ja 1 Ta 4881) carrying pilgrims overturned at Banke jungle section due to over load while the pilgrims were returning after offering water (Jal) in Tuteshwor Mahadev Temple in Mahottari.
Condition of two others injured is critical, police said.
Two pilgrims died on the spot while the other died on the way to hospital, Deputy Superintendent of Police Krishna Parasain said.
Seriously injured are undergoing treatment at Bharatpur Hospital, police said.
