  Saptakoshi water reaches year's highest level

ITAHARI, July 26: The level of water in the Saptakoshi River has been recorded highest, 246,362 cusecs per second, of this year at 2 am on Thursday, according to the Koshi Barrage Control Room.

The water level in the river has increased from Wednesday evening after heavy rainfall in the hilly districts of the eastern region.

Earlier, at 8 pm on Wednesday, the water flow in the river was recorded 218,505 cusecs per second.

However, the water level has decreased from 6 am this morning, said police head constable of Keshav Dhakal. The water flow was recorded 223,835 at 6 am this morning.

Thirty of the 56 floodgates in the barrage have been opened after heavy rise in the water flow in the river.
