  Panchthar banda enters day three

KHAGENDRA ADHIKARI

TAPLEJUNG, July 24: The indefinite banda called by CPN-Maoist in Panchthar district continued to affect normal life in Panchthar district for the third consecutive day.

The district committee of the party had called the banda protesting the death of its cadre from Sunday onwards.

Alleging that a group of Nepali Congress (NC) cadres, including Lekhraj Jabegu and Dhiren Jabegu, beat Gajendra Jabegu of Yangnam-6, an area committee member CPN-M, the banda has been enforced demanding Jabegu declared a martyr and compensation to the victim’s kin. They have also demanded legal action against the guilty.

Due to the banda, normal life in district remained crippled as market places, transportation and government and private offices have been completely shutdown for the third day as well.
