  37 power pilfers arrested

CHITWAN, June 11: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), Distribution Centre, Bharatpur on Monday arrested 37 persons including 19 women while carrying out cross check at different areas in western Chitwan under the Electricity Leakage Control Campaign.

According to the NEA, 17 were arrested from Mangalpur and 20 from Saradanagar on the charges of electricity leakage.

Spokesperson of the NEA, Suresh Pandit said that the arrestees have been kept at the District Police Office, Chitwan, for necessary action.

A team of the Armed Police Force, Nepal Police and employees of the NEA arrested them.

The arrestees will be released after paying fines as per the rule, said the NEA.
