KATHMANDU, May 15: The senior leaders of the Nepali Congress (NC) on Tuesday held talks on federalism and forms of governance and the progress on talks with the other political parties over the thorniest issues in constitution.

During the meeting held at the party president Shushil Koirala´s residence, the leaders stressed that the NC should not give up its stance on state restructuring and forms of governance.

NC leader Arjun Narsingh KC said that the NC was for directly-elected president and prime minister elected from the parliament. However, the NC is against the ethnicity-based federalism, KC added.

In the meeting, NC leaders and lawmakers put forth their views regarding the party´s roles in the national unity government.
