  Onta appointed APF Chief

KATHMANDU, April 9: The government on Monday promoted Additional Inspector General (AIG)  Koshraj Onta to Inspector General of Police (IGP)of Armed Police Force. The decision came during a cabinet meeting in Singha Durbar.

“He will hold the post from Wednesday as the incumbent IGP is retiring on the same day,” said Finance Minister Barshaman Pun after the meeting.

Onta will be the first chief of the Para-military force to enjoy a full four-year tenure. Incumbent IGP Shailendra Shrestha will retire on Wednesday after reaching his age limit.

Similarly, the cabinet meeting decided to set up new tax service centers in Itahari, Damak, Ilam, Udaypur, Rautahat, Dhulikhel, Dhankuta, Palpa, Tanahun, Bardiwwas, Jumla, Baglung and Surkhet.

The government also decided to grant permission to Nepal Infrastructure Development Company Ltd to carry out feasibility study of Hetauda-Kulekhani-Kathmandu tunnel road project. According to Pun, the same company will undertake the project following the feasibility study.
