Sushil wins gold in international karate Rajesh Hamal to bid farewell to footballers

KATHMANDU, Nov 25: Karate player Sushil Ghalan won a gold medal in the Sixth International Karate Championship held on November 21-22 in Gujarat, India.
Nepali team also won three silver and four bronze medals during the championship in which Singapore, Japan, Malaysia and South Asian countries had participated, informed Nepal Budokai Karate Association´s Chairman Sheetal Pratap Singh.
The silver medalists representing Nepal were Raj Maharjan, Gyan Bahadur Thapa and Nimesh Maharjan while Bijay Khadka, Chin Lama, Hari Tamang and Niru Tamang won bronze medals.
Rajesh Hamal to bid farewell to footballers
KATHMANDU, Nov 25: The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has invited actor Rajesh Hamal, instead of the regular preference of political figures and ministers, for the farewell of the national football team on Thursday.
Along with Hamal, Minister of Youth and Sports Ganesh Tiwari Nepali, National Sports Council Member Secretary Haribabu Chaudhary and ANFA officials will bid farewell to the players at ANFA Complex, Satdobato. ANFA Vice Chairman and Spokesperson Lalit Krishna Shrestha said that Hamal was invited to boost the morale of the players.
The Nepali team is leaving for Kolkota on Thursday for practice match before the Sixth SAFF Championship. Nepal will play the practice match with I League´a 5th position holders Mohun Bagan on Friday and 3rd position bearers Chirag United on Monday next week.
The team will leave for Bangladesh after the practice matches to participate in the SAFF Championship, which will be held from December 4-14.

KATHMANDU, Nov 25: Little Angel´s School, Hattiban, is organizing the First LA Inter-school Official Karate Championship on December 11and 12 at the school ground.
Altogether 20 schools have confirmed their participation in the championship, stated the founder principal Umesh Shrestha at a press meet organized in the school on Wednesday.
The championship will feature a total of 18 events, including 10 in boys´ category --20 kg, 25 kg, 30 kg, 35 kg, 40 kg,45 kg, 50 kg, 55 kg, open weight and single kata -- and eight in girls´ category -- 20 kg, 25 kg, 30 kg, 35 kg, 40 kg, 45 kg, open category and single kata. About 250 players will vie for 18 golds and silvers each and 36 bronze medals.
Team champions and runners-up will be decided on the basis of number of gold medals won. The winners and runners-up will be awarded with trophies. Likewise, the best boy and girl players will also be awarded with trophies.
