NFC employees' bar GM from entering office

KATHMANDU, Nov 22: The Nepal Food Corporation (NFC) employees´ association on Tuesday prevented General Manager of the NFC Hari Narayan Saha from entering office, accusing him of financial irregularities.



The association denied Saha entry to the office by putting up a notice at the main gate of the head office of the Corporation, Bhadrakali.[break]



The notice states that Saha committed financial irregularities in the NFC.



In a press release, association president Balram Acharya alleged Saha of purchasing 300,000 quintals of rice at Rs. 600 per quintal which is more than the market price and keeping it in stock without selling it.



Saha is also accused of making the life of the people in the remote areas vulnerable in the name of difficulties in the supply of the food grain to these areas.



The association also charged Saha of misusing the transportation subsidies provided by the government for his self-interest.
