KATHMANDU, June 23: Six officials of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) have been stranded in Lukla for the last two days due to bad weather. The officials had gone to monitor the physical infrastructure of four airports in Solukhumbu district on Sunday.

According to Ratish Chandralal Suman, deputy director general of CAAN, the officers of airport management and development directorate and corporate planning directorate have been stranded there. "The visibility is very poor due to unclear sky," Suman said.

The continuous rain has prevented us to go to other airports at Solu, TR Manandhar, deputy director general of corporate planning directorate, told myrepublica.com. Bad weather has created heavy disturbances in the movement of air passengers.

Solukhumbu has four airports at Lukla, Syangboche, Faplu and Kangelang.
