The quake struck 59 kilometers west of the capital Port-au-Prince, which was razed eight days ago by the 7.0 quake that is thought to have killed 100,000 to 200,000 people.
Wednesday´s quake was initially measured at 6.0. It struck at a depth of 9.9 kilometers at 1103 GMT.
