Police said Yam Bahadur Saha (15) of Hapur-1 in the district was hit by the bus (Ra 1 Kha 77) heading to Hapur from Ghorahi. He died while undergoing treatment at Rapti Sub-Regional Hospital.
Police have seized the bus driver and the vehicle.
Meanwhile, a prisoner died inside at District Prison Office, Dang, last night. The deceased is identified as Rudra Budha (56), who was serving jail sentence for killing his wife.
In Chitwan, a jeep crushed an elder to death Wednesday night at Bhateri. The deceased is identified as 70-year-old Kaman Singh Gurung of Khalangjung, Gorkha.
Gurung was seriously injured when the Narayangud-bound jeep from Mugling (Na 1 Ja 1505) hit him and died later at Bhatarpur Hospital.
Meanwhile, an elder was burnt alive in a fire that broke out at Sakarpura, Saptari, Wednesday night.
An incense stick lighted at his cow shed at 10:30 p.m. suddenly caught his house, claiming the life of Dukhi Mukhiya (77).
The fire engulfed two houses and two sheds and killed two billy goats. Property worth Rs. 250,000 was destroyed.
Police, fire fighters and locals doused the fire after one hour.
