The Constitution of Nepal stipulates that safeguarding the freedom, sovereignty, territorial integrity, nationality, independence and dignity of Nepal, along with the rights of the Nepali people, border security, economic wellbeing and prosperity shall be the basic elements of the national interests of Nepal.
